Nine years after the first march for “Ni Una Menos”, this June 3, different feminist marches occupied the streets of Río Negro and Neuquén. The movement that was born in 2015 after the femicide of Chiara Páez was mobilized to request justice for the different crimes that occurred in recent years.
The mobilizations that took place in the region began at 5 p.m. Gathered at strategic points, they moved through the main streets of the different cities.
In Viedma, the capital city of Río Negro, a crowd mobilized under the slogan of “Not One Less. With hunger and hatred, there is no freedom. Down with the DNU, no to the basic law.
At the end, a document was read in front of the Río Negro Judicial Branch building.
In Bariloche, The strategic meeting point was on Moreno and Onelli streetsto later march towards the Civic Center.
In this Rio Negro city the claim focused on the election of the Snow Queen, a contest that returns and perpetuates “symbolic violence”, according to what they say from the Multisector of Women and Dissidents.
Cipolletti was also a point of mobilization for Ni Una Menos.
With torches, flags and posters in hand they added a claim pointing towards the Government.
Neuquén was the city that attracted the most people. With the feminist movement gathered at the monument to San Martín, the march remembered the lesbicide in Barracas and asked for “Justice for Pamela, Roxana, Sofía and Andrea.”
During the mobilization, different activities were carried out, such as the traditional “feminist bullfight.”
At the end of the march in the capital of Neuquén, the organizations carried out a symbolic intervention called “Light the lesbian torch.”
In Roca the concentration began on Roca Avenue and Mitr Streete, to then go through the Police headquarters and the Federal Court.
The posters during the mobilization withdrew the request for justice for the femicides, but they also targeted the Government.
Women of all ages, including girls, filled the city center to then go to the starting point and carry out the “transfeminist bonfire.”
