Medellin is getting ready for a new week of work and study after a long holiday, which for many means leaving their homes.

Therefore, drivers must take into account the Peak and Plate measurement in force in Medellín and the Aburrá Valleywhich restricts the circulation of private vehicles, as established by the Mayor’s Office of Medellín.

The measure is applied Monday to Friday, from 5:00 am to 8:00 pm, except for some main roads such as Regional Avenue, Las Palmas and the road to the West. However, the regulations are valid in all neighborhoods and townships.

Failure to comply with the Peak and Plate may result in a type C14 summonsin accordance with the National Land Traffic Code of Colombia.

This violation carries a fine equivalent to 15 current legal daily minimum wages (SMLDV), which for the year 2024 it is equivalent to $650,000.

In addition to the fine, the offender’s vehicle will be immobilized as stipulated in traffic regulations.
