Today the administrative act of awarding and signing of minutes of initiation of six lining works, repair of slopes and slabs on the main and secondary canal of Alto Valle and Valle Medio was carried out. Six gates will also be placed in the diversion channel of the Julián Romero de Cinco Saltos Hydroelectric Power Plant.

The superintendent of the Provincial Water Department, Pedro Sánchez, announced that three works will be put out to tender next week: “One for the repair of slabs on slopes at the Roca Hydroelectric Power Plant”; “the repair and reconditioning of the Adductor Canal I of Fernández Oro” and “the lining of the irrigation canal KD6-II section II progressive 2650-3021 km of Cipolletti”.

The irrigation and drainage systems of Río Negro supply water to the farms and fields where the production of fruit, nuts, vegetables, forage and ornamental plants are protagonists, since they occupy a total area of ​​86,189,500 m2 and have 140,677 .62 hectares registered to receive the service.

The Secretary of Energy, Andrea Confini, participated in the event; the DPA superintendent, Pedro Sánchez, with his team; the mayors, Robin Del Río from Luis Beltrán and Diego Ramello from Choele Choel; presidents of irrigation consortia of the Alto Valle and representatives of the companies Suelos del Valle, Ferjim and Quatro.
