The SENA Regional Cesar, through the Aguachica Agrobusiness Center, commemorated Farmer’s Day, with the holding of the ‘First Farmer’s Market 2024’ in the ‘San Roque’ park of this town. Likewise, the space was conducive to delivering the labor competency certification to more than 30 field workers.

The commercial exhibition had the participation of more than 35 productive units, chain stores and rural producers from different municipalities and villages in the south of the Department.

Sady Caselles Osorio, deputy director of the Agribusiness Center, stated that “this event was the platform for a business roundtable between suppliers and demanders, promoting commercial exchange, praising and recognizing the daily work of the peasants of southern Cesar who, with effort and dedication, contribute to the food security of our municipality, the region and the nation.”

Peasants from the municipalities of: La Gloria, Gamarra, San Alberto, Río de Oro, González, Pailitas and Curumaní and Aguachica attended.

Deputy director Caselles Osorio reported that, during the celebration, the farmers also enjoyed musical and cultural samples and activities that motivate them to continue harvesting dreams, with their hard work that turns them into heroes of the country’s food sovereignty.

The event was attended by the mayor of Aguachica, Víctor Roqueme, who highlighted the importance of supporting farmers and their ventures for the economic and social development of the region.

The day was a vibrant example of the entrepreneurial capacity of the farmers of the neighboring municipalities of southern Cesar.
