The Citizen Council for Public Security and Criminal Justice published a new report forty-eight hours ago placing the city of Cúcuta in 43rd place among the eight most dangerous cities in the country.

The analysis shows that crime has increased and that the current government’s policies aimed at “Total Peace” with illegal actors have not produced the expected results and, on the contrary, violent events have increased.

The border city appears on the list along with capitals such as Buenaventura, Palmira, Cali, Santa Marta, Barranquilla, Sincelejo, Cartagena where an x-ray of urban violence is carried out that has overwhelmed the capacity to deal with different phenomena that have exacerbated the problem of public order.

Within the analysis carried out by the Citizen Council, it is noted that “the homicide rates of each of the cities were taken with the crime and population figures of each government” in order to establish the incidence of crimes.

The report reveals that “for the first time since the ranking was carried out, eight cities in Colombia entered the list of the 50 most unsafe on the planet and three of them made up the top 30, Buenaventura, Sincelejo and Cali, a situation that had not occurred since 2012″.

The factors revealed by the document of the Citizen Council for Public Security and Criminal Justice also indicate that the guerrilla conflict, the rearrangement of the Gulf Clan and the commission of other crimes associated with citizen security is what reflects the public order problem. that the country has today.
