La Gota programs music, photography and illustration contests in June

La Gota hosts three competitions during the month of June. The first of them is the 18th Gota Music Cover Edition Contest, a contest of songs or versions of original musical themes by groups or soloists with 800 euros in prizes. Proposals can be submitted in La Gota until August 4, through email [email protected].

The second is the 10th La Gota ‘Urban Looks’ Photography Contest, whose theme is the city and its corners, in order to discover each space with different looks. It has 400 euros in prizes. The submission period will be until June 30, sending an email to the same address.

Finally, the 5th Digital Creation Contest ‘Phase C’, with 3,000 euros in prizes, covers all artistic disciplines under the theme ‘Human connection in the digital age’. Aimed at young people born or registered or enrolled in an educational center in Logroño. The submission period is from the day after publication in the BOR until July 15, 2024, to the email [email protected]. The complete rules for these three contests can be consulted at www.lagota.es.

San Bernabé Special Cooking Theater and Workshop

La Gota de Leche also has the performance of the play ‘Los peajes de Alba’, by Virginia Cervera and Eduardo Viladés, which will take place on June 14 in the patio (at 7:30 p.m.). This is a play that will be dramatized with live music by Mix-Es Band Pioneros. The latest work of the playwright Eduardo Viladés, whose works have been performed throughout Spain and several countries for years, is a dramatic comedy in three acts. Admission is free until full capacity.

Another of the planned activities is the special San Bernabé cooking workshop, taught by Aarón Langarica. It will take place on June 13 (at 7:00 p.m.), for a cost of 5 euros. Registrations can be made from June 1 at lojoven.es.

Concerts, philosophical café and exhibitions

In the musical section, two activities have been scheduled. On the one hand, on June 6 and 7 (at 8:00 p.m.), the selected groups will perform in the ‘Open MIC On the same rope’, a musical competition in which young people are offered the opportunity to show their talent and musical skills and performing before the public. Likewise, the group Afroboy will offer a concert on June 21 (at 8:00 p.m.)

A new edition of the Philosophical Café, coordinated by Marina Rodríguez, has fifteen places available. It will be June 29 and registrations can now be made.

The program includes three exhibitions. The first of them, ‘Domestic Animal’, by Álvaro Morón’, is an exhibition of large-format plastic works that will be on display until June 28.

The second, from June 3 to 27, is ‘Our most animal part’, by CEE Marqués de Vallejo students, who has reinterpreted animals and their connection.

Finally, the experiences of the Viajateca will be collected in the photographic exhibition ‘Trekking through the Peruvian Huayhuash’, from June 4 to 28. In relation to travel, La Gota will host the travel gathering on June 19 (at 8:15 p.m.) about the trip to Peru that is reflected in the exhibition, in which a twelve-day trekking was carried out surrounding the Andean Huayhuash mountain range.

The Youth Councilor, Laura Arrieta, and the municipal Youth Manager, Alberto Martínez, presented this Tuesday the complete programming offered by this entity to young people between 16 and 35 years old.
