!Blue Night! El Romántico Viajero defeated Municipal de Puente Alto 5-1 at the National Stadium in the round of 16 of the 2024 Chile Cup.
The team led by Gustavo Álvarez had a disputed first stage, managing to take a 2-1 advantage. In the first minutes the opponent surprised us, quickly opening the scoring (2′). Despite this, our team took control of the ball, achieving equality through a header from Federico Mateos (27′).
Our blues continued to insist to take the lead on the scoreboard, which we achieved in the 39th minute after a new aerial ball that this time Renato Cordero anticipated in a great way to establish the 2-1. In this way, we close the first half.
In the second half, the U managed to find the spaces to create danger in the rival goal and thus came the third blue goal (54′) after a foul on Lucas Assadi in the area that Leandro Fernández converted into a goal from twelve steps.
