“Universal Health and Health Equity, based on the One Health health paradigm” is the motto and a guide to convene the V International Convention Cuba Salud 2025, the XVI Health for All Fair and the II International Fair of Medical Tourism and Wellness, which will take place between April 21 and 25 of next year at the Convention Palace and the Pabexpo fairgrounds in Havana.

This fifth edition will host as a novelty the first One Health Congress, with the purpose of establishing consensus on this paradigm, a pillar of sustainable development.

In a press conference, authorities from the Cuban Ministry of Public Health reported that national and international organizations will sponsor the Convention, which has among its objectives to debate public health management models in the post-Covid-19 stage. This space also becomes a scientific and academic setting for the exchange of the most relevant issues of the global health agenda that sets its horizon in 2030, said Dr. Ileana Morales Suárez, director of Science and Technological Innovation at that institution.

On comprehensive preparedness for epidemics based on the experiences lived during Covid-19, the impact of climate change on health, the safety and quality of medical care, chronic diseases and the increase in morbidity and mortality worldwide , emerging diseases, science and innovation and the formation of human capital, presentations and professional exchanges will also be generated.

Likewise, the inclusion of health in public policies, strategies and economics of health activity, new processes in primary care, evaluation of health technology, computerization, communication, ethics and regulatory laws associated with this sector, will be part of the event agenda

Conferences, workshops, symposiums and colloquiums, exhibition fairs, book presentations and visits to healthcare centers will be other activities that will be included in the 2025 program.

Pablo Castell, director of the National School of Health, estimated that about a thousand delegates, including those who attend the event in Havana and those who participate virtually, will be sharing their knowledge and experiences regarding maternal and child health. non-communicable diseases, care for the elderly, hygiene and epidemiology, and other topics.

In parallel with the Cuba Health 2025 International Convention, the XVI Health for All Fair and the II International Medical Tourism and Wellness Fair will be held, showcases of scientific-technological advances, innovative business models, research, services, products, both from companies national and foreign, applied to tourism and health in general.

Dr. Yamila de Armas Águila, president of the Cuban Medical Services Marketing Company, stated that the “presence of our network of international medical care services will be very focused on all products related to improving well-being and quality of health.” life”.

The organizers hope that the III Foreign Investment Forum in the health sector will also be a space to promote foreign investment opportunities in Cuba and its development prospects.
