Jujuy and Entre Ríos also benefited. Their respective governors signed agreements with the new Chief of Staff of the Nation. The province of Corrientes still does not define anything about stopped national public works with a serious negative impact on the local economy.

The Chief of Staff, Guillermo Francos, held a series of meetings with governors from different provinces at Casa Rosada. Among them, Leandro Zdero from Chaco, Carlos Sadir from Jujuy and Rogelio Frigerio from Entre Ríos.

During the meetings, various agreements were signed for the transfer of 80 public works from the Nation to the provinces. This issue represents one of the main complaints of the provincial leaders.

Corrientes has not yet defined anything about the stopped national works: National Route 12 Highway and the Añá Cuá dam in Ituzaingó where 350 workers were laid off in December 2023, to mention a few.

It should be noted that these agreements are the first to be concluded between the national Executive and the provinces. According to the statement issued, each one undertakes to assume the financing or execution of the works detailed in the document.

Minister Francos highlighted: “In joint work with the Ministry of Economy, the Secretariat of Public Works and the governors, we agreed to distribute responsibilities regarding the continuation of certain works. Some will continue under the responsibility of the National Government, while others will do so under the orbit of the provinces”.
