This Tuesday, June 4, the legislators who are members of the Health and Disability Commission deliberated, who issued an affirmative statement for an agreement signed between the Ministry of Health and the Provincial Social Work for the medical practices of Diagnostic Hybrid Surgical Images, called PET- CT, for beneficiaries of said social work and that are carried out within the province through the Nuclear Medicine Center.

The meeting, held in the Presidency’s situation room, was headed by the head of the commission, legislator Gustavo Núñez, together with the vice president, representative Marcela Quiroga, and was also attended by legislators Stella Caparrós and Graciela Seva and deputies Enzo Cornejo and Juan Carlos Quiroga Moyano.

It is appropriate to note that the specific agreement was signed on January 30, 2024, between the Ministry of Health of the province of San Juan, represented by Minister Amílcar Dobladez Zunino and the Obra Social Provincia, represented by the controller Rodolfo Daniel Fasoli.

The aforementioned Agreement aims to establish that the medical services of Diagnostic Hybrid Surgical Images, called PET-CT, for the beneficiaries of the Obra Social Provincia be carried out within the province through the Nuclear Medicine Center.

The services will be provided exclusively at the Nuclear Medicine Center located on the premises of the Central Level Hospital called CEMEC (Spanish Center for the Management of Chronic Diseases), at 468 West Agustín Gómez Street, in our city, upon authorized request. by Medical Audit of OBRA SOCIAL, on duty and once the authorization granted by OBRA SOCIAL has been accredited.

The medical benefit will have a cost of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Pesos with 00/100 ($250,000), by virtue of the interdependence of the services and the number of affiliates that it has, which will be updated according to the economic parameters taken as reference to the activity, through agreement of the parties.

The service includes the provision of contrast medium as well as consumables, disposables, and referral of the results to the patient.

The benefits consumed will be paid by the Social Work, through the Cost Recovery area of ​​the Ministry.

Regarding the updating of the values, it will be subject to the increases imposed by the laboratory providing the contrast medium, since 70% of the cost of the study corresponds to the aforementioned cost and the increase will be communicated by the Ministries, five days prior to the start of the month.

On the other hand, diagnostic benefits will be paid in accordance

to the amount resulting from the settlement carried out, within thirty (30) calendar days of its presentation, with a check up to date (due date of the relevant invoice) to the order of the Ministry of Health or by immediate bank transfer.
