As part of the local immunization strategy, the commune will have new extramural spaces and the operation of the mobile clinics that, in February of this year, began to operate, to carry out the task of protecting the population from infections. respiratory.

In order to reinforce the Winter Campaign of the Ministry of Health #lasvacunassalvanvidas, the La Serena Primary Care inoculation teams are available in different sectors of the territory, with the aim of preventing the spread of COVID and Influenza infections. along with caring for the elderly from pneumococcal diseases.

Next to the Líder supermarket, at 3128 Guillermo Ulriksen Street, as of June, a new vaccination point has been set up in the eastern sector of the city. This is the opening of a box, thanks to the sponsorship of the DOC DOC emergency clinic, directed by Dr. Pablo Millaleo, who provided this space so that the public can receive this service for free.

Present at the event were the Government Seremi, Paulina Mora; together with the head of Health, Paola Salas; and the director of the Health Department of the Municipal Corporation Gabriel González Videla, Rodrigo Fernández; accompanied by Health coordinators and community vaccination team.

Regarding the coordinated work between the different entities, the Government Seremi, Paulina Mora, highlighted “thanking the Health Seremi, Pablo Millaleo and the Municipal Corporation of La Serena, for making this space possible. This is the impulse that as a government we want to give, precisely for the care of the people of our region. The public-private link is extremely important to respond. And that has a basis and principle of solidarity.”

For her part, the Seremi de Salud, Paola Salas, referred to the viability of providing coverage to the population in the eastern sector of the commune. “We have made it feasible for a vaccination point to be in a private clinic, but being attended by officials who are from the municipal health area. Furthermore, this area of ​​the city does not have a clinic, so we are very happy to be able to invite the population to get vaccinated, Monday to Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.: 00 hours.

Rodrigo Fernández, director of the Health Department of the Gabriel González Videla Municipal Corporation, reiterated the call to the target population to get vaccinated in the event of contingency and eventual contagion, mainly due to influenza. “We are opening a new vaccination point in La Serena, which has been an effort that we have achieved, thanks to the support of both SEREMIs. We need people to come get vaccinated. It is the message that we want to send to the entire community. The service is free for everyone.”

Dr. Pablo Millaleo, director of the DOC DOC clinic, stated that “we are happy for this public-private alliance, where everyone has done their part to improve the health of our population in the eastern area, providing very convenient care. . We wanted to contribute in a solidarity way to this great vaccination campaign, with 200 daily slots for such a service.”

Likewise, Primary Health will enable a new vaccination point this weekend in the Espejo del Sol Park (at the Social and Cultural Meeting of Entrepreneurs), in the Las Compañías sector, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
