The capital of Caldas opens to the world with the strategy: Manizales Summer Camp, an initiative of the Manizales University Campus Program and the Internationalization Office of the Mayor’s Office, which seeks to strengthen academic and cultural ties between national and international students.

This week the pilot of the bet is carried out with the University of the Coast of Barranquilla; A group of 10 students, in the fourth and fifth semester, and 2 professors from the international business program, enjoy a complete agenda of academic, cultural and tourist activities in the city.

“With this experience, through what they have learned in the classrooms, throughout their professional training, they can come and see how in the business environment of this region they can put into practice all the knowledge they already have” explained the director of the international business program at the University of La Costa, Diana Marcela García.

The Manizales Summer Camp offers an enriching experience that goes beyond traditional classrooms. Participants will be able to immerse themselves in a world of knowledge through academic sessions with experts in various fields, such as the digital economy, bioeconomy, innovation, 4.0 technologies, marketing, logistics, clean energy and the green economy.

“It allows students to broaden their vision, learning about other programs in the city of Manizales, but also how our companies work,” said the director of social projection of the University of Manizales, Beatriz Alzate Gómez.

The program also seeks to broaden the vision of students by giving them the opportunity to live the experience of studying in Manizales and learn up close how the city’s companies work. Immersion in the business world will allow them to learn from local businesses and provide feedback on their own learning, thus strengthening their skills and competencies.

Participants will be able to visit emblematic places such as the Biotechnology Center (BIOS), the Ecopark Network, Biome (Interactive Center for Science and Technology), the Butterfly Farm, the Coffee Cultural Landscape, the Caldas Liquor Industry, the Caldas Hydroelectric Power Plant and the Nevados National Natural Park.
