A young man from Medellín lost his life in a river in San Rafael, Oriente Antioquia, which had arrived this holiday Monday, June 3.

Identified as Juan Camilo Cuartas Piedrahíta, he was with his girlfriend in a tributary that passes through the municipality’s linear park, When they were both carried away by the current, but this one did not manage to come out.

​According to information provided by local authorities, The young woman was rescued unconscious by several people who were in the place.

Knowing what happened, six units of the fire department and several residents of the area began search efforts, finding him lifeless three hours later.

​This accident is added to the one that occurred during the weekend in the municipality of Mutatá, Urabá Antioquia, where a family that had arrived from Frontino to spend a day in the sun, has two of its members missing who were swept away by a sudden flood of the Mutatá River. Authorities report that there are two more missing people.

​To locate them, firefighters from Mutatá, Carepa, Chigorodó and Apartadó were summoned, as well as the Civil Defense and the Red Cross.
