Around 1:30 pm this Tuesday The transport strike was lifted in La Romeliabetween Santa Rosa de Cabal and Dosquebradas (Risaralda).
The morning was full of traffic jams for drivers heading to Pereira due to the closure that a group of transporters carried out since dawn.
They protested road changes made by the Mayor’s Office of Dosquebradas to organize transit between the municipality and Pereira.
After several attempts at dialogue, the union and the Mayor’s Office They agreed to meet again tomorrow at 2:00 pm in the San Isidro sectortwo blocks before the roundabout where today’s protest took place.
The drivers argue that since it is an inter-municipal service, they are made to travel along Ferrocarril Avenue, which does not pass through the urban area of Dosquebradas, and this prevents them from picking up passengers. That’s why, They ask that they be returned to Simón Bolívar Avenue.
The Mayor’s Office responds that the service is from terminal to terminal and that When picking up passengers in the urban area, they take them away from the Megabús.
The day
Throughout the morning there was a blockade for fractions of time. Transporter Néstor González said that the road was closed intermittently from 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Eran 10 minutes of blockade and 10 minutes of open road.

During the morning, the mayor of Santa Rosa, Paulo Gómez, invited the transporters to dialogue and maintained that he was seeking to communicate with the mayor of Dosquebradas.
After noon the transporters They prevented the passage of Empresa Arauca buses. They asked that the service cease until there is an agreement with the Dosquebradas Mayor’s Office.
Some passengers got off, but then the Empresa Arauca buses were allowed to proceed, since they were traveling from Medellín.
Before 1:00 pm the drivers announced a new closure of the road. They are still waiting for an agreement at the dialogue table with the Dosquebradas Mayor’s Office.
The representatives of the Administration of Dosquebradas ask for patience regarding the agreements at the dialogue table. They express that the agreement is that as long as there are talks there is no blockade.
However, some transporters were impatient and therefore rushed to block again, but the Police spoke with them and they agreed to wait longer with the road clear.
At 1:30 pm the strike was lifted.
