ISA INTERCOLOMBIA improves health post in San Juan del Cesar

on the sidewalk Boca del Monte, rural area of San Juan del Cesar, La Guajira, as part of the complementary social actions of the project Cuestecitas-Copey-Foundation Interconnection at 500 and 220 thousand volts, they expanded and improved the health post.

With this initiative they contributed to the quality of life of the inhabitants of the area, who previously only had an office at the health post. Now, they have two additional offices, a bathroom and medical equipment. In addition to infrastructure improvements, we installed an elevated tank to improve water supply. With these adaptations, residents will be able to access general medicine, gynecology and dentistry services.

The Community Benefit Project was agreed upon with the Boca del Monte Community Action Board and other members of the community, who recognized the need to improve primary health care due to the distance of the village from the urban area.

During the consultations, they also agreed to create an Oversight and Support Committee composed of two members of the community, two members of the Community Action Board and a representative of the Restrepo Barco Foundation, our ally in the execution of the initiative. The objective of this committee was to supervise and guarantee the transparency of the process.

These social actions were carried out in a complementary manner during the construction stage of our energy interconnection project, which will be fundamental for the country’s energy transition.
