The governor of Cundinamarca, Jorge Emilio Reyannounced through his social networks the start of an ambitious project aimed at improve 5,000 kilometers of rural roads in the department. This effort is part of the strategy “Ways to stay”an initiative that seeks to transform road infrastructure and, thereby, promote the economic and social development of the region.

Governor King announces transformation of 5,000 kilometers of rural roads in Cundinamarca
The project is possible thanks to an agreement signed between el Departmental Fund for Neighborhood Roads and the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean. According to Governor Rey, this memorandum of understanding will allow for technical precision and the selection of prioritized roads that will be intervened. “With great expectation and enthusiasm, I want to inform you that the Departmental Fund for Neighborhood Roads ‘Roads to Stay’, a project that will be a benchmark in the country, is now a reality in Cundinamarca. We will begin with the intervention of the first 5,000 kilometers,” Rey expressed.
The main objective of the improvement of these roads is facilitate the transfer of agricultural products to different local, regional and international markets. “This is a process that no departmental government had worked on to date. We are excited to be able to begin and thus guarantee the stability of the works, for the benefit of the people of Cundinamarca,” added the governor.
