The V International Convention Cuba Salud 2025 will take place from April 21 to 25 of next year, at its usual venues at the Havana Convention Palace and the Pabexpo fairgrounds. This umbrella event also includes the associated fairs, the 16th edition of the Health for All Fair 2025, 40 years old, and the II International Medical Tourism and Wellness Fair, all of great importance in the context of Cuban public health.

The official launch was made by the Ministry of Public Health, MINSAP, at a press conference held on June 3 at the International Press Center.

In the presentation of the V International Convention Cuba Health 2025, Dr. Ileana Morales Suárez, director of Science and Technological Innovation of MINSAP and executive secretary of the Convention and health fairs, highlighted that this will be held under the motto Universal Health and health equity based on the health paradigm with a focus on One Health, “will be officiated by prestigious national and international organizations and has among its fundamental purposes to debate public health management models at the stage; “It will serve as a framework for scientists and academics to exchange the most relevant global health issues facing 2030.”

“The experiences of the numerous participants from countries on all continents, as well as the contributions that international and national leaders and experts will make, will favor the search for consensus around current health challenges (…) The event hopes to reach common positions on the need to consider health as a pillar of sustainable development.”

Later, he explained that “the forum will discuss topics related to comprehensive preparation for future epidemics based on the lessons learned from Covid 19, the impact of climate change on health, the safety and quality of medical care, chronic diseases. and its growing burden of mortality and morbidity, emerging and re-emerging diseases, as well as research and innovation, together with the training of human resources in the sector.”

Dr. Morales highlighted several strengths of the conclaves: colleagues from all the provinces of the country will attend; Professionals from multiple disciplines will be present, not only health, but also many other branches of science that contribute to the sector; opinion leaders participate at the international level; and are endorsed by the World and Pan American Health Organizations. She also pointed out that historically between 50 and 60 official delegations have been present.

For his part, Dr. Pastor Castell Florit, director of the National School of Health, assured that more than 1,000 participants will attend, including about 350 foreigners. “We intend to develop it both physically and virtually, as well as on other occasions, so that it gives opportunities to professionals from other territories to participate with their work and present solutions to health problems.”

He mentioned some of the topics that will be presented, among others: the elderly in Cuba, a segment that represents more than 22%; non-communicable diseases; primary health care as a support for Cuban public health; the social determination of health; childhood illnesses; computerization; organization in health systems and services.

The president of MediCuba SA, Dr. Armando Garrido Beravierte, referring to the XVI edition of the Health for All Fair 2025, described it as “the most important commercial exchange in the health sector in the country” and commented that it will have coverage as its central theme. universal healthcare and health equity.

He reported that “we will soon send this official call to the more than 500 foreign companies belonging to our supplier portfolio, and we hope to have the participation of the most representative markets, which will allow us to further strengthen commercial ties.”

In charge of Dr. Yamila de Armas Águila, president of the Cuban Medical Services Marketing Company, was the presentation of the II International Fair of Medical Tourism and Wellness, both terms that, in her words, “include health tourism as a modality of specialized tourism.” Within the framework of this fair, the II International Seminar on Medical Tourism and the III International Forum on Foreign Investment will be held, about which, Dr. De Armas assured that “it is possible to make foreign investments in the area of ​​exporting services.” and we are going to this event with a renewed portfolio.”

About this II Fair he said that “this year, very focused on all products related to well-being and quality of life (…) we try to look for new opportunities and grow the destination in terms of health tourism (…) we are going “new in favor of wellness tourism in Cuba being preferred in the world.” In this context, the Medical Tourism Award will be awarded.
