A Mennonite settler reported to the Police that a taxi driver had stolen Bs 370,000, after boarding the vehicle to be transferred from the Los Pozos market to the Bimodal terminal, in the capital of Santa Cruz.

According to the complaint, andThe Mennonite took his suitcase out of the taxi, but the driver fled the scene, without allowing the man to finish unloading his belongings, leaving a bag with the money inside the vehicle.

The Police carried out an operation, after receiving the complaint, and found the vehicle whereabouts and the address where the taxi driver was.

At the time of the driver’s arrest, he alleged to the officers that, supposedly, he had not noticed the presence of the bag with money; Despite this, the man was apprehended.

The director of the Special Force to Fight Crime (Felcc) of Santa Cruz, Colonel Gustavo Astilla, provided a report on the investigative work which allowed the capture of the taxi driver and the recovery of the money on Tuesday night.

“The División Properties of the Felcc received a complaint for the theft of 370,000 bolivianos. A person would have boarded a taxi from Los Pozos towards the Bimodal terminal, he lowers his suitcase and at that moment the taxi driver flees with the bag,” reported the police chief.

The Mennonite who intended to return to his colony canceled his trip after realizing that he did not have the bag with his money.
