The EPS Salud Bolívar requested the National Health Superintendency to begin the process of its voluntary withdrawal from the health system, due to the complex economic situation that the sector is going through in Colombia.
Currently, the EPS has 3,500 members in Bogotá alone, who are served in four locations, including a premium one inaugurated in early 2024. In the letter sent, the EPS asked to leave the system.
“Given the challenges that are being presented in the health sector and after a responsible and rigorous analysis, we want to inform you that the General Assembly of Shareholders of Salud Bolívar EPS has made the decision to express to the National Superintendency of Health, its intention of voluntary retirement and total, of the General Health Social Security System, as a Health Promoting Entity (EPS)“, the directors of the entity stated through the document.
In the statement they assured that after four months had passed since the intention of the EPS was expressed, the formal request for total voluntary withdrawal was presented in accordance with the legal provisions to which they can apply.
