With activities for children and young people, World Environment Day was remembered at La Vieja Power Plant

Sowing future was the title of the call that brought together a dozen primary and secondary schools and entrepreneurial positions. There were games, talks and spaces for participation that generated enthusiasm and commitment among students for caring for the environment.

This Wednesday an Environmental Education Day was held, called Sowing future, which included the participation of children and adolescents from a dozen schools in Paraná. The date, on which World Environment Day is celebrated, was the reason for the meeting that took place in the rooms of the La Vieja Usina Cultural and Convention Center and also in the outdoor space of the organization, dependent on the Secretariat of Culture of Entre Ríos.

The activities, which began in the morning and continued in the afternoon, were attended by the Minister of Human Development of the province, Verónica Berisso, among other officials.

The organization was in charge of the provincial center La Vieja Usina, the CAUCE Foundation and Hacemos Verde, and it was an area of ​​games and talks in which the students participated with enthusiasm.

At 8:30 the program started, which included a grid dedicated, on the one hand, to kindergarten and primary school children and, on the other, to high school teenagers.

For the little ones, there was story reading, play spaces and a presentation of a song by the Normal School garden. Also, the children participated in the signing of a commitment pact to care for the environment.

Meanwhile, the activities dedicated to the students consisted of the screening of the short film “Pescantora”, which was attended by its director, Fabio Marcelo Bonell, who referred to the project, and then members of the province’s Environment Secretariat and The Park Ranger Corps gave a talk regarding protected natural areas and their importance. Next, there was a workshop on environmental democracy, led by the CAUCE Foundation, and another on Flora Nativa, coordinated by the Faculty of Science and Technology of the Autonomous University of Entre Ríos (Uader). There was also a talk on renewable energies given by members of Enersa. Finally, the students participated in a space for exchanging information and opinions related to the environment.

Participating in the event were the Environment Secretariat of the Government of Entre Ríos, the Faculty of Science and Technology of the Autonomous University of Entre Ríos, ENERSA, CAUCE Foundation, Hacemos Verde, Fabrica Feliz, Quanta Reciclaje, Pescantora (Short Film by Fabio Bonell), and MTE Recyclers Cooperative of Paraná.

Ecofair

Outdoors and despite the gray day, more than 10 Manos Entrerrianas entrepreneurship stands, organized in an Ecofair, were part of the day. On the occasion, products were exhibited whose manufacturing process responds to environmental care standards, with recycling techniques and natural elements. Thus, fabrics made from spun wool and dyed with natural inks, recycled garments, jewelry with paper, vegan pastries, honey and agroecological nuts, among other ventures.

Starting at noon, talks on urban and organic gardening were held by Eng. Gustavo Blettler and cycles of talks and exchange of ideas with exhibitors in order to invite people to learn about the practices, principles and values ​​of how to contribute to the care of the planet. These activities were carried out by areas of the Ministry of Human Development and the Ministry of Economic Development.
