The Cuban regime revealed details of the arrest this Wednesday of a man accused of sexually raping a teenager in Santiago de Cuba.
The Facebook profile “Héroes del Moncada”, linked to the Ministry of the Interior, reported that the arrest of the accused occurred around 8:00 am this Wednesday, and the police had to fire a shot to disperse the population, who wanted to lynch the alleged criminal.
“Combined forces of the Ministry of the Interior acted promptly to arrest the perpetrator of a crime of rape in Reparto Chicharrones, whom local residents and passers-by wanted to “lynch”, in a hasty attempt to take justice into their own hands” , the post detailed.
According to that profile, “there was a need to fire a preventive shot into the air to disperse the residents who pounced on the detainee, with the intention of attacking him,” the publication states.
In the morning a video about the arrest had emerged of the mannicknamed “Timba”, in the El Polvorín neighborhood, in Santiago de Cuba.
The images – released by journalist Yosmany Mayeta – although they are of poor quality and were recorded from afar, they allowed us to see how in a few seconds the number of neighbors in the place multiplied moments before the subject was taken away in a patrol car.
“I didn’t know that so many people lived in El Polvorín,” commented the person who recorded the images in reference to the crowd of people that formed extremely quickly.
Although it is not clearly seen in the video, apparently some of those present hit the subject, accused of being allegedly responsible for the rape on Tuesday night of a adolescent between 14 and 15 years old who is hospitalized.
“Look, they’re hitting him, they’re hitting him,” can be heard in the images.
Then the police shot was heard to disperse the mass of people and avoid a possible lynching of the alleged rapist, who was passing through, as he is serving a prison sentence precisely for rape.
