The Workers’ Board of the Entre Ríos Social Work Institute (Iosper) met today at the Entre Ríos Nuclear and Molecular Medicine Center (Cemener) with large providers. It was analyzed how the distortion of resources affects the health system and social work and the possible solutions.

At the meeting, “the level of investment that social work makes with all providers was developed and concern was expressed about how and how resources for medical assistance are distorted, which are distorted by special laws, which affect, in a way directly to all providers,” indicated the president of the Workers’ Directory, Fernando Cañete.

Given this scenario, “it was considered to raise, together, some political questions to the governor of the province, Rogelio Frigerio, to advance a Health Technology Assessment Agency; the implementation of insurance for assistance from Catastrophic and High Cost Illnesses; and the implementation of an Entre Ríos Mandatory Medical Program.”

The president of the Association of Clinics of Entre Ríos (Acler), Silvia D’ Agostino, indicated that “Iosper is one of the main financiers of the sanatoriums in the province and we see that today the resources from a good analysis made by the president of the Workers’ Directory, who demonstrated how all providers lost participation in resources due to special laws, protections or disability benefits.”

The treasurer of the College of Pharmacists of Entre Ríos, Emilio Irigoiti, agreed on the importance of the Iosper call “to begin working on optimizing resources, so that the situation can be improved and that the resources that the social work scope for everything.”

The president of the College of Biochemists, Roberto Gebhart, agreed that “there is a distortion of funds due to demands and medical prescriptions that, sometimes, are not necessary, so resources are not spent rationally and are deferred to providers.” .

Given this scenario, the president of the Medical Federation of Entre Ríos (Femer), Fernando Vázquez Vuelta, stated that “although there are discrepancies and complaints to Iosper, at this time we must join forces to take care of the health system for the people of Entre Ríos, of which 320,000 are affiliated with this Social Work.”

In this regard, he considered that, “although we will continue to fight for tariffs, today we have to look at the bottom line to see how we take care of the main social work, not only the leaders but the providers and members.”
