LOGROÑO, June 6. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The General Industrial Production Index (IPI) has grown by 11 percent year-on-year last April in La Rioja, 2.4 points less than the national average, which has increased by 13.4 percent, according to data published by the National Institute of Statistics (INE). Industrial production thus comes out of negative figures in La Rioja.

The index was positive in all the autonomous communities with Catalonia (+22.1 percent), the Canary Islands (+20.6 percent) and Castilla y León (+20 percent) with greater increases, except in Extremadura where it fell by 3.9 percent.

So far this year, industrial production in La Rioja has decreased by 3.5 percent, compared to an increase of 1.9 percent in the national average.

By economic destination, consumer goods as a whole rose 10.4 percent in the region with an increase of 29.4 percent in the case of durable goods and 8.8 percent more for non-durable goods.

As for the rest, capital goods increased by 15 percent; intermediate goods scored 28.4 percent more and energy goods, 35.5 percent less.
