Through his social networks, the governor of La Rioja, Ricardo Quintelaannounced that The first Snowological Station will be installed in the province with the objective of measuring the amount of snow fallen and determining the contribution of water that the Antinaco – Los Colorados valley will generate.
In his X profile (former Twitter), the Rioja president published: “La Rioja will have its first snowological station to predict the water contribution of the snow. We will install the first snowological station in our province in Famatina, more precisely in Portezuelo de Illanes near station number 8 of the “La Mejicana” mine, located at 4370 meters high”.
“This antenna will be linked to the meteorological radar installed in Patquia, expanding the extent of coverage to determine the meteorological events that take place in the Rioja territory. In addition, we foresee the same provision in the subsequent installation of four other stations with the same purpose. “We continue working on federal provincial policies that guarantee the rights of all our people.”concluded the governor.
It should be noted that it will be the first station with snowological characteristics, with the capacity to measure the amount of fallen snow that will be installed in the province. After the installation, four other stations will continue, which will also be linked to the radar in the town of Patquía.
