The Human Rights Secretariat of La Rioja announced the sad news on its social networks. His resistant fight for his son Oscar, who disappeared in the dark era of Argentine history, marked fire in the history of the Province and the country.

Through a post, the La Rioja Human Rights Secretariat reflected on her life, “A teacher at heart, Luisa Torres de Toledo, had arrived in the capital of Rioja from the depths of the Llanos, a post near Tama, on the way to Malanzán. She started her family, where five daughters and a son grew up. Only one man: Oscar Alfredo, “el Chuschín”, as her father’s family was nicknamed. Oscar was arrested and disappeared in 1975 in Tucumán, where he emigrated to study. Doña Pocha undertook the search with determination, patience and motherly tenderness, joining the Mothers of La Rioja as soon as they were born. She was about to reach 99 years old.”

Always serene, always deep and simple. Thank you dear Mother! Your fight marked the way for us. Oscar and, of all the disappeared detainees, were your banner and the names sheltered in your handkerchief and in your heart full of life and strength. See you always!
