Car-sitter: one month has passed since the sanction in the Council that prohibits its activity
In the session of Monday, May 6, the Municipal Council approved and repealed the regulations that were in force in the city on the activity of car-sitpers in Santa Fe. With this sanction, the actions of the rags and those who clean cars on the city streets were prohibited in the city.

A week later, the Municipal Executive began intensive operations on the city streets, especially in areas where metered parking is implemented (SEOM), known as “Stage 1”. The main objective of these operations is to put an end to what the city mayor called “double taxation” for users of the municipal parking system.
After a month, the measure is felt strongly, mainly in the central area of the provincial capital. In practice, if an inspector finds someone working as a car attendant, he or she is informed that this activity is prohibited. If the person continues, the inspector, with the assistance of the police, can proceed to arrest him. Additionally, if the person is under the influence of alcohol or other substances, they may be subject to the provisions of the provincial Misdemeanor/Coexistence Code.

In dialogue with Sol Play, the Secretary of Government of the Municipality Sebastián Mastropaolo highlighted the importance that the municipal Executive gives to the complaints that neighbors can make over the telephone 0800 777 5000. “We receive 256 complaints from Santa Fe residents reporting the presence of car guards in sectors where they should not be found and tWe have 95% effectiveness”in relation to the Municipality’s capacity to resolve the situation raised.
