Within the framework of World Environment Day, sessions were held at the CIIDEPT where schools at all levels in the province participated in workshops, artistic exhibitions and delivery of diplomas to schools highlighted for their environmental projects.

The Minister of Education, Susana Montaldo; together with the Secretary of Education, Gabriela Gallardo; They visited stands organized by the Directorates of Initial, Primary, Secondary, Superir and Youth and Adult Education.

Regarding the meeting, the head of the educational portfolio stated: “our quality of life depends on caring for the environment and this is the way that the Ministry of Education has to communicate and honor Environment Day. It was a day with a lot of participation from students of all levels; From the time we are children, adults learn or draw our attention to some habits that we have to acquire. There are many aspects that we have to take into account: taking care of water and air for a better quality of life and better health. “We all have to take care of the planet.”

In turn, the director of Non-University and Artistic Higher Education, Silvina Fernández, highlighted “it was a beautiful day to hear and see the participation of all the students. Minister Susana Montaldo today invited us to plan a day where we all work on reflection and awareness of caring for the environment.”

“The workshops were organized by the Lastenia School that has an ambient modality, the IES of Tafí Viejo; “It was a day of work and a starting point to continue working in our schools,” he added.

“The day was very good, I liked the workshops they did with the children and the activities prepared were really very interesting. We received a mention for a job we did last year to care for the environment, we made recyclable pots using yerba mate that we use every day in our homes; Instead of throwing it in the trash, we gave it another purpose. We have to learn to take care of the environment from our homes to give children a better future,” said Marcela, a teacher at the Delfín Jijena School.

Finally, Belén Rodríguez Ibáñez, 4th grade student at the Julio Argentino Roca School, closed “today with my classmates we wanted to demonstrate everything we can do with simple things like cardboard, egg boxes or any type of material. “We made some trash cans for our school with recycled materials.”
