  • Today and tomorrow, 130 locations throughout the country meet to exchange knowledge and experiences.

The city of Córdoba is the host of the event that brings together more than 130 towns from 17 provinces throughout the country: the 25th Meeting of Tourist Municipalities.

Representatives of municipalities will share experiences with UN Tourism, the Organization of American States (OAS) and experts in tourism and technology.

The event takes place in the Auditorium of the Cultural Center of Nueva Andalucía.

«In this meeting we are going to share knowledge, our ideas, management strategies, we are going to learn and transmit knowledge. This is the most important resource of any management,” said the Undersecretary of Tourism, Marcelo Valdomero.

“After the pandemic we are seeing the revenge of the cities, revaluing everything that our destinations have to give. Tourism is an engine of development, a generator of employment, and we must celebrate this initiative,” acknowledged the president of the Federal Tourism Council, Valentín Díaz Gilligan.

This 25th meeting is organized by the Federal Tourism Network together with the Municipality of Córdoba, in joint work between different areas of the local State that make this event possible.

The programming highlights the keynote talks by Lorena Villar, Senior Project Specialist of the Department of Intelligence, Market, Policies and Competitiveness; Sonia Figueras, Program Manager of the UN Tourism Academy; and Santiago Noboa, specialist from the Department of Culture and Tourism at the Organization of American States.

Topics such as good practices, event venues, professionalization, the development of new tourism products will also be addressed, in addition to the presentation of specific experiences from municipalities such as La Cumbrecita, Rosario and Buenos Aires, among others.

“It’s been many years since we started. We are the protagonists of the territory and today the voice of the territory has to speak, because it is a constructive and proactive voice that we always use to tell what is happening to us,” concluded the president of the Federal Network of Municipalities, Pablo Sgubini.

Of the participating municipalities, 70 are from the province of Córdoba. The meeting will end tomorrow, in a day in which the Federal Table on local managers stands out.
