The lifeless body of a young man was found on June 6, 2024 on the road to the sidewalk Ranchoquemao. The Humanitarian Action Corporation for Coexistence and Peace of Northeast Antioquia (Cahucopana Nordeste) confirmed the discovery.

The victim could be Santiago QE, a young miner and resident of the Panama 9 village, who had been held by armed men the night before, according to local leaders.
Local authorities have already launched an exhaustive investigation to clarify the circumstances of the crime. This unfortunate event once again puts into focus the urgent need to reinforce security and protection measures for the inhabitants of this area.
