The Bill that seeks to provide a regulatory framework for Chile Cuida includes: Municipal Single Window, universal care for people with severe dependency, free access to mental health care for caregivers, among others.
Coyhaique.- With the official launch of the National Care System, Chile Cuida, the Seremi of Social Development and Family in Aysén Karina Acevedo announced the regional scope after the presidential announcement in the Public Account.
In this regard, the sectoral authority emphasized that “The Chile Cuida National Support and Care System is already a reality that enters as a fourth pillar of social protection and will organize and expand current services, progressively recognizing and guaranteeing the right to care. Furthermore, in the coming days, our Government will introduce the bill that recognizes the right to care in three forms: the right to care, to be cared for and to self-care, because as President Boric has emphatically said, it is time to recognize that paid and unpaid care work also fulfills a social and economic function that contributes to the development of the country and of course to that of our Aysén region.”
This system, when it comes into operation, will allow caregivers to have preferential access, through the credential that recognizes their role, to care in different public services and free mental health care will also be guaranteed. Additionally, in the bill that will be sent to Congress to provide an institutional framework for Chile Cuida, a Municipal Single Window will be created so that caregivers can carry out their procedures efficiently in a single place and, on the other hand, universal care will be provided. to people with severe dependency in the Aysén region, as well as in the rest of the country.
Highlighting that care will have the same relevance as other social areas such as education, health and pensions, Government Spokesperson Seremi (S) Tomás Laibe pointed out “We have to emphasize that this is a policy from its beginnings with citizen participation, because that It is what our government seeks and above all in this matter, where it is important that the people they care for do not feel alone, that their view is valuable, that they have rights and that above all the State will ensure this.” Adding that “We hope that this bill has a quick approval where our parliamentarians have already expressed their commitment, because they know that the reality of our territory is very complex in terms of Care and that it is urgently necessary to give guarantees in this regard.”
The Chile Cuida National Support and Care System seeks to provide greater well-being to the people they care for and those who require care in three dimensions: overcoming inequality, facing the loss of freedom and promoting autonomy.
Finally, and through the Local Support and Care Network that is available in 4 communes in the Aysén region (Guaitecas, Lago Verde, Coyhaique and Río Ibáñez) people who have severe and moderate dependency are supported with home care services. and specialized, but at the same time the overload of their caregivers is reduced with self-care times and “breathers.” Currently, the Network’s attention in the Aysén region reaches 116 beneficiaries with an investment amount of $235,160,870 and will be expanded to two more communes (Cochrane and Tortel) reaching 30 new beneficiaries with a budget for its installation of $62,188. 040 in this 2024.
