In the quarterfinals of the AmeriCup U18 that takes place at Obras Sanitarias, the Argentine National Team defeated Venezuela 79-75 and achieved the great objective of qualifying for next year’s U19 World Cup to be held in Switzerland.

The entrerriano Joaquin Folmer (Crespo) played a great game and completed his scoresheet with 9 points (3/3 doubles, 1/3 triples), 4 rebounds and 2 assists in 20:37 minutes on the court. Tyler Kropp (22 points) was the top scorer, while Felipe Minzer excelled with a double-double of 19 points and 15 rebounds.

This Saturday, the Argentine boys will face the Dominican Republic, one of the two undefeated teams in the tournament, in the semifinals.

THE OTHER WORLD PLAYERS: Canada (72-68 against Brazil), Dominican Republic (79-69 against Belize) and the United States (98-66 against Puerto Rico) won their respective Quarterfinal matches and qualified for the Semifinals and the World Cup U19 from 2025.
