Thief stole a bicycle from a store in Ibagué and with it he wanted to commit another theft

The man was allegedly preparing to perform the same feat, but in another location.

The Ibagué Metropolitan Police announced that in light of the latest events that occurred in the city center, reported through social networkswhere a person breaks windows of commercial establishments to later steal items, an arrest was made.

In the different control activities, the Ibagué Metropolitan Police managed to capture a person on Carrera 5 and Calle 19, at the time when he was trying to commit a theft with the same modality, apparently there he tried to take some items of carpentry. The modus operandi of this subject consisted of approaching his target in the early hours of the morning and breaking the windows of the premises in order to steal the objects.

When verifying the bicycle on which this person arrived at the commercial establishment, the police realized that it was the same one that had been stolen on June 5, so it was deduced that this person was involved in the previous events. Immediately afterwards, both the captured person and the recovered items were placed at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Office.

In response to these facts, Colonel Diego Mora Muñoz, Commander of the Ibagué Metropolitan Police, stated: “We once again ask the community for timely information to avoid criminal acts or behaviors contrary to coexistence, to have a timely reaction and to generate the results obtained today.”
