The 4th Parasports Games of Adapted Athletics were held on the Güemes Legacy track. More than 250 people with disabilities participated, representing different municipalities of the province and capital institutions.
The Undersecretary of Social Sports, Claudia Vásquez participated in the meeting along with one of the organizers of the Sports Disability area, Omar Cruz; both welcomed and Vásquez highlighted “It is an honor to have you at the games, your visit inspires us all, you are an example of courage, determination and passion.” She also stressed “inclusion is the starting point to promote equal conditions in access to sport and we want to continue promoting sports activities with the purpose of stimulating and strengthening the skills of athletes.”
The next dates for the remaining disciplines will be in August (Wheelchair basketball), September (Goalball) and October (soccer for the blind)
The Parasports Games are organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the Catholic University of Salta (UCASAL).
