Short week for three holidays: San Juan commerce closes on two and opens on the other

An extra short work week of just two days is coming due to the presence of three holidays very close to each other, two of them in honor of our heroes and one for tourist reasons. In this context, the San Juan business decided to close two days and open the other.

The commemorative dates are Monday, June 17, for the passing of General Martín Miguel de Güemes to Immortality, and Thursday, June 20, for the day of the death of General Manuel Belgrano. To the latter is added Friday, June 21 for tourist purposes. In this way, the only working days in the week of June 17 to 23 will be Tuesday, June 18 and Wednesday, June 19.

The Chamber of United Merchants of San Juan reported this Saturday that on Monday the 17th the vast majority of businesses in the City of San Juan will not serve the public, the same for Thursday the 20th. While, on the contrary, on Friday the 21st the merchants decided to operate normally.

It should be noted that next Thursday the 13th, a provincial holiday for the anniversary of the founding of San Juan, business service will be normal.

When are the next holidays in 2024?

According to the official schedule of the Ministry of the Interior, there are 10 holidays left in the remainder of the year, three of which will occur this month. Among them there is also a long weekend in October and another in November. The only month without non-working days will be September.

June 20 (immovable): Passage to Immortality of General Manuel Belgrano.
June 21: Holiday for tourist purposes.
July 9 (unmovable): Independence Day.
August 17: Passage to Immortality of General José de San Martín.
October 11: Holiday for tourist purposes.
October 12: Day of Respect for Cultural Diversity.
November 18: National Sovereignty Day (moved from November 20).
December 8: Immaculate Conception of Mary.
25th December, Christmas.
