President Gustavo Petro on his new trip to Europe will participate in the ‘Peace, Reconciliation and Human Rights’ Forum in Stockholmat the Conference for Peace in Ukraine, which will be held in the town of Burgenstock, Switzerland and has planned a meeting with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to the Casa de Nariño, “Colombia’s active role at a global level in peace issues will be the central axis of the Official Visit of President Gustavo Petro to Sweden and their participation in the Conference for Peace in Ukraine, in Switzerland, agendas that will take place between June 12 and 16 “next.”
Petro will travel to Europe to talk about peace
The president’s agenda will begin this Wednesday June 12 when I arrive in Swedenwhere he will meet with members of the Swedish Parliament, led by the president of that collegiate body, Andreas Norlén. On Thursday the 13th there will be a meeting with businessmen to try to find investment and commercial exchange opportunities in Colombia.
In addition, he will have a meeting with His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden at the Royal Palace. He will then meet with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristerssonwith whom he will discuss strategic issues on the bilateral agenda and ratify the ties of friendship between the two nations, which date back to 1874.
On Friday, June 14, Petro will speak at the ‘Peace, Reconciliation and Human Rights’ forum, which will be held at the Swedish Defense University, to present a analysis of the Peace Agreement in Colombia, its impact on the transformation of Colombian society and Total Peace.
That same day he will meet with the former prime minister and president of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), Stefan Löfvén, where they will discuss scientific research on conflict issues and key cooperation for world peace and security.
On Saturday, June 15, Petro will arrive in Switzerland to participate in the Conference for Peace in Ukraine, which will have as its central theme explore an initial common understanding between participating Statesunder three axes of discussion: nuclear security, food security and free transit and humanitarian affairs.
