“As long as they do not decide to dismantle the illicit economies, there will be no peace talks and the army offensive will be total. The order is to neutralize the ‘Emc’ in Cauca and the Valley,” the president said on his social network account X on the morning of this Saturday, June 8.

Peace talks are not advancing
Currently the National Government, in the midst of its ‘total peace’ policy, is carrying out a dialogue process with a good part of the FARC dissidents. “The ‘Emc’ of Cauca on its different fronts did not give any sign from the beginning of wanting a serious peace process. He believed, very wrongly, that the negotiation was to strengthen himself militarily and that his strengthening was done by subjecting the population to his structures and financing himself with the illicit economy and with large illicit capital,” said, for example, President Petro in March of this year.
