Two people died and approximately 15 were injured after the collapse of the terrace of the Rich bar, located on the third floor of Plaza Alttus in the capital of San Luis Potosí, ministerial authorities reported.
The events were reported last night on Sierra Leona Avenue, where several attendees were in the terrace area trying to enter the club, the glass railing gave way, causing about 20 people to fall from the third floor.
“The Attorney General’s Office of the State of San Luis Potosí (FGESLP) opened an investigation file for the death of two people due to the collapse of a third level of an establishment on Avenida Sierra Leona in the Capital of Potosina,” the ministerial body reported.
“Agents from the Investigative Police (PDI) went to the aforementioned place, where first reports indicate the death of two men and approximately 15 injured due to the fall from a third floor in Plaza Alttus in Colonia Garita de Jalisco,” he explained,
The report was attended to on Friday night by PDI agents and personnel from the Scientific Deputy Prosecutor’s Office, who went to the site to begin the first investigations.
The bodies of the deceased were transferred to the Legal Medical Service (Semele).
Local sources report that a graduation was being held at the site, which caused a long line and then an uncontrolled accumulation of people near the railing.
The situation caused anxiety and the evacuation of the place.
