After two days of work, the 25th Meeting of Tourist Municipalities that took place in our city and which brought together more than 130 municipalities, shared experiences with UN Tourism, the Organization of American States (OAS) and leading experts in tourism and technology.

It should be noted that representatives from 20 provinces and neighboring nations were present, who shared keynote talks, a block of good practices, and a large federal table.

Within this framework, the Municipality of Córdoba and Trelew signed an agreement that seeks to promote tourism in the city, contributing to the sustainable development of the respective communities and contributing to the generation of employment and contributing to local economies.

The agreement was signed by the Secretary of Government, Inspection and Control, Rodrigo Fernández; the Undersecretary of Tourism, Marcelo Valdomero; and the mayor of the Municipality of Trelew Gerardo Merino.

This agreement seeks to create instruments and procedures for cooperation and strategic association, for the development of tourism in the respective municipal jurisdictions; encourage the participation of the public and private sectors in the development of the agreed objectives, generating the necessary tools and conditions for this purpose through articulation tables and promote promotional missions, both from the public and private sectors, with the purpose of increasing, generating and promote tourist exchanges.

Furthermore, this agreement will facilitate the exchange of knowledge resulting from the tourism management experiences of both cities, allowing for the generation of joint actions that enhance tourism integration.

Both Municipalities committed to promoting cooperation and rapprochement with tourism markets of common interest; implement appropriate methodologies for the socioeconomic use of the respective tourist and landscape heritage and protected areas existing in their respective territories.

It should be noted that the 25th meeting was organized by the Federal Tourism Network together with the Municipality of Córdoba, in a joint effort between different areas of the local State that made this event possible.

During the closing of the event, Pablo Sgubini, president of the Tourist Destinations Network, stated: “In this meeting, which has been the most convening of all those that have been held so far, we have been able to bring to light the paradigm of cooperation, leaving aside the old paradigm of competition”.

“In addition, we have been able to consolidate the Destinations Council, which is the voice of the tourist territories”Sgubini concluded, highlighting how fruitful this meeting was, in which more than 130 municipalities participated.
