Las Tunas.-29 years after the creation of the José Martí Cultural Society, it is more relevant than ever in the actions of each of its members and their efforts to defend the right to speech, criticism, participation and frank and constructive in support of the revolution.

That is why every time the national representatives of this institution meet with members of the branches in each territory, the words of Dr. Armando Hart become palpable when he stated: “This institution belongs to a group of Cubans with their hearts set on the Homeland and the National Hero. It is its purpose to establish a bond of love, hope and unity among Cubans who, both in the national territory and abroad, are inspired by the ideas of the Master.

And precisely with that desire, Víctor Hernández Torres, first vice president of the José Martí Cultural Society and vice president of the Martiano Program Office, Lil María Hernández Pisch, vice president of the Martiano Program Office and Liana Rivera Verdecia, national vice president of the Youth Movement, arrived in Las Tunas. Martiano (MJM).

At the meeting, Lil María, deputy director of inter-institutional relations of the Martiano Program Office, explained that among the priorities of the association’s work for this stage are the strengthening of youth clubs and the promotion of the digital library “Patria Libros”, dedicated to the literature produced on the Island.

Hernández Pisch highlighted that “we are also promoting the work with the forests, gardens and busts of Martí, and the activities of the Day Facing the Sun, which began in the month of January, and which concludes in January 2026 to celebrate the 130th anniversary.” of Martí’s fall in combat, an occasion on which we are going to inaugurate the Dos Ríos cultural complex.

Also present at the meeting were Carmen Velázquez Quintana, provincial president of the José Martí Cultural Society, Roinel Reyes Àvila, president of the MJM, as well as participants who, in the Balcón del Oriente Cuba, evaluated the work done and presented projections for the next semester.

In the debate, the intellectuals insisted on the need for each task and responsibility in their daily actions to unravel the multiple essence of the Cuban Apostle; because to be good Martians it is not enough to study the thoughts, life and work of the Master; But, in addition, we must analyze how his teachings even serve to transform the world.
