The fundamental activities for the Territorial Defense Day in San Cristóbal were carried out in the José Martí popular council, with the presence of Colonel Lino Loases, head of the Provincial Military Committee.
As usual, the work of the different groups was updated, the economic-social, the Staff, Internal Order, the Party group and Work Committee with the masses and the procedures office based on the characteristics of the Defense Zone and its potentialities.
As part of the practical exercises, innovations in weapons were presented, including an adaptation to rocket launchers.
The president of the Municipal Defense Council, Luis Felipe Azcuy Curbelo, was interested in security in the area and it emerged that the Internal Order Brigade is complete.
They also witnessed the activities of the children and the group of workers at the Abel Santamaría Cuadrado semi-boarding school on the defense of the Homeland and preparation for natural disasters.
A Red Cross exercise took place at the José Martí agricultural subsidiary company as part of risk prevention in the entity.
At the end, the political-cultural event of popular participation took place with the main results of the day.
