The 2024 summer season will officially begin in Guantánamo on Saturday, June 29, with recreational, sports and cultural activities throughout the territory, it was specified in the evaluation of the Strategy for the planning, assurance and execution of the summer stage.
Under the labels #SummerMode and #Cuba, the actions seek to satisfy the preferences and recreational needs of the Guantanamo territories, and cover attention to various sectors, from prominent workers and vulnerable families to penitentiary centers.
In the Culture sector, highlights include the holding of a Book Fair in mountain communities and the Guantánamo-Baracoa Theater Crusade, both in the summer, as well as the development of traditional cultural routes, fixed spaces and other proposals in the Popular Councils from the province.
In the case of Sports, recreational and bathing areas will be activated in the territory. Likewise, public viewing of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games is planned, from July 26 to August 11.
Education will guarantee the development of the Trades and Knowledge Training Courses during the stage, in which the graduates will have the category of Qualified Worker, once they are completed.
The Elpidio Valdés Amusement Park will host a wide variety of tournaments, contests, pet fairs, presentations of community projects; while the Young Computer and Electronics Club will develop the First Mega Summer Event with Electronic Games in the province.
In addition, the provision of gastronomic services will be enhanced according to available resources, with the inclusion of new economic actors in the implementation of activities.
