Referring to that publication of January 6, we told there that Governor Rogelio Frigerio would not have received everyone’s resumes, since Ana María Teplizky had been located at the local Copnaf, to the astonishment of locals and strangers. Although the official was apparently surprised by her appointment, far from rejecting it, she accepted it despite her surprise. The truth is that it seemed obvious that it was an obvious “payment” or “return of favors” since she was the main member of Hugo Berthet’s group, who publicly supported the governor.
These designations without criteria have their consequences. And it didn’t take long to take shape. Barely five months after the appointment, the official had already had repeated complaints about poor attention in an area where extreme sensitivity must be had for the issues being addressed, and which Teplizky apparently would not have the capacity to deal with.
This would have led to some disagreements with the Secretary of Human Development, Claudia Soto, to whom another area with similar characteristics to Copnaf depends, which is the Childhood, Adolescence and Family Area, which is in charge of Amalia Bertuccio, and which should work in coordination, but we all know that in San Salvador those departments never worked in the best way and have leaked on more than one occasion.
The conflict would have escalated to such an extent that this Friday morning the mayor of San Salvador, Jorge Zambón, met with provincial authorities of Copnaf. It was 10:30 when the community leader was supposed to appear at the event for Journalist’s Day, and a small delay made the press find out what was happening. Why didn’t the mayor arrive? It was for this meeting.
Knowing MERCURY NEWS The rumors that have been spreading for several days about complaints about the attention at the local Copnaf office, is that we wanted to investigate the issue. Thus, a source closely linked to the departmental organizations confided to this medium that the Zambón official had complained about Teplizky and the communal chief had taken the bull by the horns.
It’s not surprising. It’s not the first time it happens. We all remember when both Zambón and his counterpart from General Campos, Javier Mendelovich, prevented Diego Pinget from assuming the departmental coordination of Comedores, and they ran to tell Frigerio what was happening. With plenty of reasons, surely. Pinget never reached the position he had been offered.
MERCURY NEWS He directly consulted Zambón, who was politically correct in responding and confirming that “Copnaf was there, they are touring the province, evaluating and training.” And regarding the specific question he was subtle when stating that “it is possible that there are changes that the province considers necessary.”
These changes could translate into a possible departure of Ana María Teplizky whose only merit was putting together Hugo Berthet’s list that led Jorge Zambón to victory and supporting Governor Frigerio.
The cards have been cast and the hours will tell what will happen to the Copnaf watershed.
