Yesterday, an environmental volunteering day took place in Ocón that included a talk on biodiversity at the Los Molinos City Hall given by Miguel Lara, environmentalist from Madre Selva Environmental Education.

Afterwards, the participants traveled to the Barranco de Valdevilla, where days ago the construction of a small pond for wildlife began, at the crossroads of the Los Molinos and La Pasada roads. Upon arrival, the assistants helped to finish this lagoon of almost 6 meters wide and 90 cm. maximum depth. It will serve to support reforestation in search of improving the ecosystem, as explained by Gabriel Alcañiz, head of the Environment at the La Rioja Red Cross.

This participatory activity was organized by the Red Cross and had the collaboration of the Ocón City Council and the subsidy from the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge.
