The provincial senator of Buenos Aires and former Minister of National Security, Sergio Berni, visited Corrientes this Saturday to begin reorganizing Peronism in the face of what will be the local internal elections and the 2025 electoral year. But he did not meet with those who hold the seal of the Justicialist Party but with Justicialists grouped in the Unión Correntina movement, led by deputy Hugo Vallejos, partner of Encuentro por Corrientes. “It is important to build and bring everyone together,” Berni explained to El Litoral as he headed back to Buenos Aires.

Berni commented that his visit to Corrientes had a political background. “I came to Corrientes for political reasons, which is what we do constantly when we tour the country, in a delicate situation that Argentina is going through, and above all things in a look at reorganize Peronism with a view to what is coming with a view to generating a Government program adapted to the new challenges of Argentina and understanding that Peronism has to be an option for power,” he said.

“We are working on the challenge that Justicialism has called for internal elections on November 17. I came to accompany the colleagues who want to transform reality. It is important to build and bring everyone together,” Berni explained to El Litoral as he began his return to Buenos Aires.

Deputy Hugo Vallejos confirmed to El Litoral that “if the conditions are met, I can return to the Justicialist Party. I left because there were no inmates. The conditions must be to shuffle and give again.”

Also participating in the meeting were Guido Tello, general secretary of the Association of Health Workers; the leader José Pelozo, from Unión Correntina; the leader Martín Ríos; among others.

The Norte Corrientes movement brought together Peronists from all over the provinces who slammed the door on Justicialism due to disagreements with the party leadership that led to an intervention.
