A small plane crashed and a renowned stunt pilot died in Entre Ríos | The Trocha

This is Cristian Grecca, president of the Paraná Aeroclub. He was 54 years old. The causes of the accident are under investigation.

A renowned acrobat pilot died this Saturday in the province of Entre Ríos in a plane accident: the light plane with which he was carrying out maneuvers in the Paraná Aeroclub area crashed into the ground for reasons that are being investigated. This is Cristian Grecca, who was 54 years old.

The tragedy occurred around 5:30 p.m. today, when Grecca was flying over the Aeroclub that he presided over. Under these circumstances, according to preliminary reports, the aircraft plummeted and, after impacting the open area, caught fire completely.

Three fire crews and members of the Entre Ríos Police worked at the scene of the accident to remove the victim’s body and carry out the first measures regarding the investigation.

The identity of the pilot was confirmed shortly after by the secretary of the Paraná Aeroclub, Diego Martínez. “It is a situation that we have been experiencing for an hour, which we do not fall. The official voice of the causes of the accident will be the Transportation Safety Board, which is coming from Rosario, to carry out the technical expertise,” he said in a brief interview with Elonce.

Martínez also said that Grecca “had a habit and training issues of doing routines that included different heights, where all the neighbors in the area always saw him.” Precisely, videos of some of the many acrobatic passes he did over the Paraná River circulated on social networks.

In addition, the secretary explained that the deceased was flying at the time of the accident “in an Extra 300-3-30, the only one of that type in the country.”

“We will never know what happened in the cabin seconds before the accident. “We are going to ensure that, after the technical analysis of the remains, we can clarify what happened,” he added and before finishing he said that the pilot “went off doing what he liked, enjoying his plane.”

“He will remain in our memory and in that of the Aeroclub as another person who made the institution great,” he concluded.

With great pain, his loved ones also said goodbye to him. ”’Pilots never die, they just fly higher.’ Goodbye, Cristian Grecca. May God have you in glory,” Rodrigo, a photographer who shared several images that he had taken of him, wrote on his Facebook profile, plus one in which they are both seen posing and smiling.

“Have a good trip, Cristian Grecca. Hugs from the heart, old friend. You left doing what you loved, maybe it’s a consolation,” a friend, Daniel, published on his behalf. “Fly higher than usual! RIP”, was the message from another named Sergio.
