What’s coming: July is a month of tradition and cultural celebration in Santiago del Estero – Sur Santiagueño

Santiago del Estero celebrates its birthday in July with an explosion of art and culture, marking the 471st anniversary of the “Mother of Cities.” This special month will be full of artistic and cultural activities that attract Santiago residents and tourists from all over the world.

Among the celebrations, the large folklore clubs, popular gala evenings, competitions, and the emblematic 22nd Marcha de los Bombos stand out, which will fill the streets of the city with life and music.

Peña of the Orellana-Lucca Duo

The famous Duo Orellana-Lucca has confirmed its support for July 19 at the Club Juventud (Perú 300). Manuel Orellana and Rodolfo Lucca, the members of the duo, have announced that they will have the participation of prominent figures of Santiago folklore, including Néstor Garnica.

The 22nd Drum March 2024

On July 19, in the Patio del “Indio” Froilán, the vigil of the 22nd Bombos March will take place. The march itself will take place on July 20. Three columns will start from different points: one from the Patio del “Indio” Froilán, another from Belgrano and the entrance arch to the city, and the third from Plaza Belgrano in La Banda, all converging in Aguirre Park. The arrival of the columns will be enlivened by live musicians, including the special presence of Peteco Carabajal.

La Peña de los Bombos 2024

On July 20, at the Red Star Club (Rivadavia N° 945), “La Peña de los Bombos” will be celebrated. This edition will feature “The Meeting of the Tribes”, bringing together delegations from Neuquén, Uruguay, Córdoba, Rosario, Miramar, Bariloche, Buenos Aires, Tucumán, and other places. The night will be animated by DJ “Selva” from Uruguay, and will feature performances by Demi and Roxana Carabajal, La Brasita de mi Chala, Pablo Carabajal, Kike Oyola, and Rodri Salvatierra.
