In a meeting held in the Military Canton of Neiva, the Ninth Brigade of the National Army and the mayors of the municipalities of Huila have decided to join forces in a collaboration to strengthen security in the department.

During this meeting, the military unit, which operates in the 37 municipalities of Huila, presented an exhaustive report on the operational achievements of recent months. Besides, current threats in the region were assessed and joint strategies were defined to confront them.

The central purpose of this collaboration is to consolidate efforts towards the development and progress of Huila. The aim is to create a safe environment that encourages tourism, attracts investment and promotes sustainable growth.

“We need to guarantee security so that the visitor arrives to Villavieja without any problem. If we treat tourism well and report any abnormal situation that affects our company, we will surely be able to move forward and tourism in Villavieja will never be lacking,” said Mayor Yordan Pacheco.
