In that sense, Rojas added that the sinkhole in question was reported in the western sector of the building located in Viña del Mar.

“The water evacuation routes collapsed and as a result of this, a preventive emergency evacuation was initiated,” added the police official.

Previously, Senapred indicated that the sinkhole is fifteen meters long and thirty meters deep.

Likewise, the Presidential delegate of Valparaíso, Sofía González, stated that they spoke with neighbors to tell them that “Various services will be deployed to be able to evaluate the situation on site, evaluate the possible causes and the risks that could be associated”.
