Communicating, coordinating and supporting operational deployment in the population, allowing human, material and technological resources to be linked, constitute the main objective of the Communications Center (Cenco).
This was founded on June 7, 1950 under the name of “General Transmission Plant of the Radio Patrol Service”, which today celebrates 74 years of work, at the service of anyone who requires the support or help of Carabineros.
Through telephone number 62661, the community contacted the Institution, requiring support in the event of an emergency or a crime, obtaining a timely response from devices deployed in the first eight radio patrols that made up the 17th Radio Patrol Police Station in the Metropolitan Region.
In June 1979, the police emergency number 133 was created, which today governs the entire country, under the same objective, which is to coordinate the institutional response to emergencies or community requirements.
Calls
Pitanzas, jokes, insults, queries about the state of the roads, pharmacies on duty, flight schedules, the weather situation, among many others, make up the so-called innocuous calls and which during the year 2023 exceeded 42 thousand, generating a collapse in the level of emergencies.
During the last year, Cenco Aysén answered 68,810 calls, with a monthly average of 5,688 calls.
