During this festive long weekend, the uniformed personnel of the Magdalena Transit and Transportation Section have been strategically deployed in all road corridors of the department to guarantee the safety of travelers.

In total, 11 prevention areas have been installed at key points on the roads, including Ye de Ciénaga, Tasajera, Palermo, and on the route to La Guajira, with posts at the Neguanje toll, Buritaca, as well as in the sector. from Zona Bananera, Fundación, El Difícil, Plato, Santa Ana and El Banco.

The main objective of this operation is to persuade drivers and road actors about the importance of respecting traffic rules and taking precautions when driving. In addition, breathalyzer tests have been planned to prevent drivers from driving under the influence of alcohol.

The Transit and Transportation Section has issued a series of recommendations for drivers who plan to travel during this period:

1. Before leaving on a trip, tell a family member or friend about the trip you are going to make.

2. Thoroughly verify the techno-mechanical conditions of your vehicle before starting the journey.

3. Do not use electronic devices while driving.

4. Drive within the permitted speed limits.

5. Under no circumstances drive while intoxicated.

6. Take active breaks every two hours to rest.

7. If you face any special situation on the road, call 123 so that the National Police can attend to your request.

With these measures, authorities seek to reduce traffic accidents and ensure that all travelers reach their destinations safely.
